Irene Kennedy Taylor died June 21, 2011 at Hospice of Cincinnati. Born in Cincinnati in 1941, Irene attended schools in Cincinnati and New Hampshire and graduated from Boston University. She created the Recreational Therapy Program at Massachusetts General Hospital. Returning to Cincinnati in the early 1970s, she directed Camp Allyn, a residential camp for handicapped children, until her retirement in 1999. Many community organizations benefited from her wisdom and boundless energy. She leaves her partner Pat Thomas, her sister and brother-in-law Cynthia and Peter Seybolt, and their children and grandchildren.
